Mindfulness Programmes

Whether an individual is looking to increase wellness, build self-confidence or reduce stress, Mindfulness will deliver fast and effective results. Mindfulness can help anyone to start working towards a life they can be proud of.

The practices in each class involve sitting as well as occasional standing and gentle movement. Nothing vigorous is involved and participants are encouraged only do what is safe and suitable for them, based upon their state of health.

We hope you will find that our guidance is a welcoming, loving, and accessible support to develop practice and create new daily meditation habits.

Mindfulness Now Programmes

The purpose of weekly mindfulness classes is for an individual to learn Mindfulness meditation and the associated practices. Each of the weekly sessions provides an opportunity for further practice and learning. Home practice is also required.

There is sound, scientific evidence that mindfulness, particularly when practiced over a number of weeks or more, can help to avoid depression, as well as reducing anxiety, stress, and panic symptoms. It can also promote wellbeing and resilience.

It is important to say that this is not ‘therapy’. There will be some informal discussion, but this is focused on responses to the mindfulness practices experienced in the session as well as how an individual is getting on with mindfulness practice in between classes.

The benefits of practicing of mindfulness are far reaching across all aspects of life.

Tailored Mindfulness Programmes

At Sattva People Consultancy, we use, and are accredited with Mindfulness Now Programme and are accredited to teach with the Mindfulness Teachers Association.

This approach offers a fusion of mindfulness-based approaches including evidence based, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). The latter, developed by Dr Mark Williams and colleagues of the University of Oxford and the Oxford Mindfulness Centre, offers a breakthrough in the clinical treatment of depression, anxiety, and emotional trauma, and is recommended by ‘NICE’ as a treatment of choice for depression.
